Producing

  • Large & Small Budget Corporates
    £1.5k - £60k projects
Managing a large budget initially involves careful scheduling and budgeting. Craig has worked on various corporate projects managing varied budgets. His skills have been using 'spend' wisely, achieving value for money while still utilising the very best broadcast professional crews (from Big Brother, Eastenders, Top Gear etc).

  • Broadcast programmes
    Studio & LIVE outside Broadcast
Craig was recognised as one of the youngest staff members to produce a category 1 LIVE outside broadcast for BBC One (The Lord Mayor's Show) and since then has enjoyed many success with  LIVE outside broadcasts and studio productions. For the last 6 years he has produced and directed LIVE for The Royal Opera House's Ballet & Opera summer performances broadcast to screens all over the UK and digitally in Odeon & Vue Cinemas in the UK, Europe and USA.

  • Editorial & Storytelling
    Marrying creative direction with storytelling
It is important that the directors efforts do not deflect from what the item (or film) is about. As producer Craig has realised many filmed projects and focused on the audience requirements, rather than the directors requirements. Working with presenters, directors and editors to motivate and let a project achieve what it set out to achieve.

Directing

  • Portable Single Camera (PSC)
    Digibeta & Tapeless Workflows
Craig is used to booking his own crews, determining lighting, equipment and camera requirements and choosing the best people for their particular skills. Conducting off camera interviews and managing/booking a full film crew and presenter talent is part of the directing package and Craig does not shirk his responsibilities - making the shooting process as enjoyable a process as possible regardless of the pressure. Directing in location around the world. Recently Craig returned from a months filming  for a travel documentary in the USA.

  • Multicamera

  • Self Shooting
    Camera Operation and Solo Directing
Having owned his own Hi Def tapeless EX3 camera for many years and learning DV Self Shooting while at BBC Elstree, Craig is as happy self-shooting as he is with a digibeta crew. He offers and advance package though as he utilises radio microphones and imaginative lighting techniques Being able to conduct an interview, shoot GV's and manage a self contained package at home or abroad is part and parcel of the lower budget programme requirements and Craig is just as much at home doing this. He also has his own MAC and Final Cut Pro to edit from while out and about and has even cut 30 minute packages from hotels rooms from material shot that day.

Editing

  • Avid Editing & Dubbing
    Online & Offline
Working closely with an editor in the edit suite is probably the most creative aspect to film and video production. Understanding how the editing tool works, what plugins are available and the process of building a cut saves time money and frustration. Craig has a long standing relationship with Bloomsbury editing facilities 'The Station' - home to the last two Tim Burton films: "Sweeny Todd" and "Alice in Wonderland".

  • Final Cut Pro
Self Editing on the Mac - files and workflow
Craig has self shot on DV & Tapeless formats  and edited his own packages using Final Cut Pro. He owns his own equipment and can be totally independent in producing a final project at DV quality should it be required. He can also shoot and cut on location.
